The Fever Code by James Dashner

How was the maze built?   Is WICKED good?   These are just some of the questions that fans of this series have been asking themselves for the past few years.
As you probably already know, or at least suspect Thomas is not his real name. Thomas, the hero of this saga finds himself in the hands of the shady organization named WICKED. Even though he starts with them as a young child he is subjected to all manner of tests and procedures.

Dashner does a decent job of showing the genesis of the relationship between the future Gladers and the camaraderie is  in existence from the start. The inevitable Crank encounter does occur and it leaves a lasting impact on the young kids. The personalities that made The Maze Runner such an engrossing read are in evidence here already and it is fun to see a fun to see young Mingo, Alby and Newt and the camaraderie that they have.

The genesis of the relationship between Thomas and Teresa is also explored although I for one would have liked even more back story on Teresa. (Who knows, may be Dashner will give her a stand alone/spinoff series).

As you might expect the ending of this book is still nebulous and although some of the details are somewhat far-fetched, they somehow manage to fit the overall narrative. I for one  was left wondering...Is WICKED good?
